Rogoznica is the southest tourist destination of the Šibenik's riviera, 34 km far from Šibenik. It is placed on the mainland part named Kopača and on one little island called Kopara connected by the artificial dyke with the mainland. The settlement has a good protected port surrounded by the dense pine forest and the promenade «lungo mare» (along the sea). Mainland part of Rogoznica - Kopača was inhabited in 1390, and the island Kopara in 1518 as the people from around villages came running away from the Turks. The oldest church is the church of the St. John of Trogir from 1324. Rogoznica is a favorite destination of the nature enthusiasts and sailing people in the well known marina «Frapa». |
